Lavender, French Long
Known also as Pedunculata Lavender, it is similar to French Lavender (aka Spanish Lavender), but is more fragrant, has larger flowers, taller flower stalks, and a bushier growth habit. Suggested for southern areas since it is less hardy than other lavenders. The fragrance is more aromatic than English Lavender, but less delicate. (Lavandula stoechas pedunculata)
Medicinal: Similar to English Lavender.
Growing instructions: Perennial in zones 8-9. Stratify 2 weeks. Germinates at 55 to 60°F in 14 to 30 days. A light dependent germinator. Transplant in spring. Full sun. Grows 30" tall. Space 18-24" apart. Naturally low germination.
