Also known as Chinese leeks. Leaves are larger and flatter than chive leaves. Garlic flavor for salads and seasoning. Lightly steamed, the greens can be used as a vegetable or garnish. The attractive white flowers are edible, and also can be used in bouquets. (Allium tuberosum)
Medicinal: Has antibacterial qualities. An important medicinal green in Afghanistan where it is known as "Ga-na-na".
Growing instructions: Perennial in zones 3-9. Germination at 60-70°F. Transplant or direct sow. Keep 12-16" apart. Full sun. Grows 12" tall.
